Getting Serious Traffic to Your Website

Google's local search results are likely being influenced by the number of clicks a site receives for a search term.

This week a Google employee posted an answer to how the rankings algorithm worked and said one of the factors wassearch history: "In the past how many times has the listing been clicked on by users searching with the keyword."

This post was later deleted and changed to "the number of times it has been useful historically on the basis of relevance, prominence and distance."

Google's Not Talking...

Google has been asked if clicks really do make a difference to search results and they're not talking.

For now these are the factors Google says DO make a difference to local search results:
  • How relevant the business category is to the search made.
  • How established the business is online.
  • How close the business is from where the search is being made.
  • The number of times it has been useful historically on the basis of relevance, prominence and distance.
==> Even without being sure if the number of clicks makes a difference the list above is pretty useful if you want to be ranked in local searches.

Now if you've ever wanted to create an information product, or a report or text for a blog post and you're not good at typing...

If you've ever thought to yourself "If I could just speak into a program and have it type out what I say accurately.."

Here's some great news.

Voice Recognition Free In Google Doc...

Google docs now has cutting edge voice recognition capacity and it's entirely free.

You just speak and the words appear on the screen.

It's not 100% accurate but it's very close and it works better than leading voice recognition software like Dragon Naturally Speaking.

How To Use It...

Using it really is simple:
  • Have a microphone connected into your computer (you can use it on some mobile devices with their built in microphones too).
  • In a Google Chrome browser go to Google Drive and start a new Google document.
  • Go to Tools at the top.
  • Click on Voice Typing.
  • Speak.
It really is that simple.

==> For some people this tool can be the difference between creating a pile of quality content and creating very little.

And with modern search engines that's a huge key to getting serious traffic.  Try it guys!
